July

We started off July with a BBQ and fireworks with John's family. All the kids had tons of fun with the sparklers and we were able to see the fireworks from several different locations right from the backyard - it was great!!

John's brother Greg got married on 7/7/07, and I'll have to say that Tate was the cutest ring bearer I had ever seen. My husband was also the best looking groomsman of course. We are so happy for Greg and Katie!!

Tate took swim lessons for several weeks this summer and became quite the fish. We loved spending several of our afternoons at Brimhall Pool.

One of Jacks favorite activities is crawling under the kitchen chairs. He usually gets stuck and then gets really mad. I think it's hilarious.

Both John and Marie got to go to girls camp. Marie was over the 4th years, who get to do all sorts of fun stuff like canoeing and rappelling, so she kindly volunteered John to help with the rappelling, and he kindly said yes. We both had a great time, and will probably do it again next year.

Last but not least Jack finally decided to try walking. Hooray for me, since he is no lightweight to be carrying around.

June

One day in June I put Jack down for his nap and instead of talking and singing to himself for 15 minutes as he usually did, He could still be heard laughing, singing and playing after an hour. I decided I better see what was going on. He had reached a box of kleenex from off his dresser, and was having the best time shredding every single tissue. Why on earth do we spend money on toys for kids?

Jack turned one and we had a small birthday party for him with a few friends and family. He wasn't sure about eating the cake with his hands, but once he figured it out he was all for it. He is a good eater, and weighs almost 10 lbs. more than Tate did at one year.

May

May was a really good month. We started it off with a trip to Disneyland. This was Tate and Jacks first trip there and John and I hadn't been since we got engaged, so it was nice to be ther. We met up with our friends the Ofrecio's who used to be our next door neighbors. They now live in Washington, so it was nice that we could meet half way. They have two little boys (and have added a third since our trip) so Tate was sooo excited to have some friends to run around with. Tate was a pretty good sport to go on almost all of the rides. He liked Star Wars Star Tours and Pirates of Caribbean, but he did not like Space Mountain or Thunder Mountain. His favorite ride was the Buzz Lightyear ride and I think we went on that like six times. Marie's most exciting part was getting to see Oprah who just happened to be handing out an award on the day we got there. Too bad she didn't get to meet her. Marie also got to meet up with Sumerlyn Tanner, one of her mission companions. It was fun to see her and reminisce about old times. We spent three days at both the Magic Kingdom and CA Adventures, and by the third day we were all ready to go home - it was a most wonderful trip and we are already planning the next one.

Jason and Liberty flew in from Oregon for a week in May and Tate and Jack enjoyed getting to see them.

Last but not least, Jack had his first outing to Tempe Town Lake Water Park. I wasn't sure what he'd think of the chilly water, but he had a blast and giggled and splashed like crazy.

April

Tate turned four in April and had all of his friends to the park for a Buzz Lightyear birthday party. They built rocketships out of twinkies and hit the Buzz pinata. A good time was had by all, even by dad and grandpa who decided to see if they still fit on the playground equipment.

Tate went on the father and sons outing with dad (we couldn't talk him into taking Jack). He had a blast finding horny toads and shooting dads guns. Don't worry - it's just a BB gun!
