Saturday I had the awesome opportunity of participating in a charity event benefitting kids with cancer. To get more info on the event check out www.londonsrun.org. Part of the event included a 1/2 marathon. I ran this with two fabulous women, my sister-in-law Rachel, and Donnie Flaherty who I have the pleasure of working with in YW. Before the race started, London's mother encouraged all the runners and said that when the race got difficult or when our bodies started to tire and hurt, we should think of the pain and difficulties the kids face on a day to day basis. There were also reminder signs placed throuout the course of beautiful bald headed kids with the biggest smiles on their faces. It was just what I needed to remind me that if they can smile through the pain so can I. I really enjoyed the run and am so glad I had Donnie and Rachel with me. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. I'm also so blessed to have such a wonderful family. It was so awesome to come around the corner to the last stretch and see John, Tate, Jack, David, Rachel & Carsyn all cheering me on. The best part was having Tate come grab my hand and cross the finish line with me. This was such a neat event to be involved in. It really made me appreciate my healthy body and the fact that it can run 13 miles without totally falling apart (it did fall apart a little bit). Call me crazy, but I'm thinking I might make this run an annual tradition.

yeah Marie!!! YOU ROCK!!!
Girl, thank you so much for being so SUPPORTIVE and so FUN to run with. Your funny comments and your great karoake version of "Lets hear for the Boys" really made the run seem less like hard work. I am so grateful you stuck by my side the whole time. I can't wait to kill ourselves again :)
It was such a fun surprise to see you there! You did awesome!! My legs are finally starting to return to normal. I can at least walk without Donny laughing at me now. :) I think I might to annual with this too. Maybe next year I'll be brave enough for the 1/2 marathon too. :)

the house is in tolleson. which is right off the I-10 and 99th ave. about 10 mintues south of where the super bowl was. chad's work is actually off deer valley and I-10 but we can live anywhere cuz he doesn't have to go into the office everyday. so we thought we would try something different! we moved to kansas in 2002 and then to oklahoma in 2003 and then back to az in nov 2006. we don't like to stay in one place for very long...hopefully we can stay down there for awhile though. we move the last week of feb and then we are taking just my boys to disneyland the first week of march so after that i will definitely see if and when we can hook up! that would be fun! :)
